Maby I am just a bit stupid on the tech side. I cant seem to get my Nuvi to warn me with the proximity alarms. All the cameras and speed traps are downloaded and they do show up on the map, but i cant seem to get it to warn me. All my settings are correct and the camera icon does appear where all the cameras are. Please help?

The unit should notify you within the 400m proximity. It should then give a warning beep to warn about the speed trap\camera. Also could you verify if you loaded the points with the POI loader or did you copy the files onto the unit?

Hi Terrance
Is there any way the .gpx file data can be transferred to the Nuvi 300 without going thru POI loader?

You can copy the files into the waypoints folder on the unit but it will not give you a warning if you do it this way. Only an icon will be shown

Hi Conrad you can create the points in map source and then save the file as a .gpx file and then send it to you’re unit with the poi loader. The program will automatically set the proximity and the alarm.

HI Allen
Unfortunately the Quest 1 does not support proximity waypoints so this will not work.
