I received my new Nuvi about a month or so ago, and have had no issues with "Cannot calculate the route".
I did however experience some routing issues where the unit seemed to switch to "offroad" mode (while routing) and draw a straight line from my current location to the final destination. If left, it would continue to route as the crow flies. Two pushes of the detour button sorted it out.
I have just upgraded the mapsets (Topo and Rec 2010.2 and Streetmaps 2010.2) and upgraded the firmare to V3.7.
I have also loaded a number of POI's (to the unit) and another mapset (to the SD card).

OK - if the decision is unpopular then please send your reasoned comment in duplicate on mint-condition R200.00 notes, to each of the mods and once received and passed under ultra-violet rays or imilar, we'll hold a meeting to consider re-opening here
The topic has stretched to 7 pages long - it will be difficult to dig out any gems that may have passed by in this discussion AND the original reason for the Topic is reported as completed.
It would also appear that part of the off-topic paragraphs above could warrant separate topics anyway.
Closing here since I've reasoned with my little self to take this step. Thanks for the report back Andrew.
